Objective: To provide for uniform enforcement of professional standards by adjudicating disciplinary charges against state society and AICPA members.
Qualifications/requirements: The requirements for eligibility to serve on the Joint Trial Board are as follows: Individuals must be an AICPA member for five consecutive years prior to their nomination, possess a valid and unrevoked certified public accountant certificate, and must not be a member of a state board of accountancy, any of the AICPA’s or state society ethics committees, or a past member of the Joint Trial Board.
Number of meetings per year: One meeting is held for the entire JTB; and throughout the year, we conduct approximately 6 hearings, with only 5 of the 36 JTB members attending each hearing
