After hearing the latest from the SEC and PCAOB and exploring important emerging trends like AI at AICPA SEC and the Digital CPA conferences last week, Sue Coffey and our Public Accounting leadership team spent two days at the AICPA Washington, D.C. office engaging in deep strategy discussions - fueling ideas that will shape the future of the profession.

Your thoughts are requested on the following question:  What's one thing you think will make the biggest impact on the future of public accounting?

Thanks for sharing, Reon! I personally think the biggest impact will be our ability to mentor the next generation of leaders. I think collectively, we need to do a better job of bringing them into conversations earlier, bringing them to lunches for strategy meetings or client meetings, be more transparent of what their career could look like, and giving them a seat at the table sooner.

Emerging leaders are going to be asked to grow new skillsets at a significantly faster rate than previous generations. We need to make sure we are properly mentoring them to help them get their sooner with clear intentions as to what the expectation is and how we can be work together and be collaborative across our teams, organizations, and the profession!
