Hi Harry,

I wanted to find out if a candidate can be penalized by writing more than 750 words per start. Because usually their is a lot that needs to be said.

Hi Inambao,

You won't be penalized for going over the word count.

The word count is 500–750 for the core work activities and skills and behaviours using the STAR templates.

We've set a word count to provide you with a steer on how much you should be writing and to ensure that you remain focussed on giving the right information and level of detail needed.

A 10% variation is acceptable, but any more and you risk not being specific enough/addressing the STAR template requirements clearly enough and your application may not be successful or may be returned.
