  • 1.  A December Gratitude Check-In: What Are You Most Proud Of This Year?

    Posted 12-01-2025 12:00 PM
With December officially here, many accounting professionals are entering one of the most reflective periods of the year. Before year-end closes, audits begin, and tax season prep ramps up, this moment offers a rare chance to pause and look back at how far everyone has come.
Across the profession, 2025 has brought rapid changes โ€” new technology, shifting client expectations, evolving regulations, and continued demands on capacity. Yet within all of that, there have been countless wins, breakthroughs, and moments of growth worth celebrating.
As the community heads into the final month of the year, itโ€™s the perfect time to reflect on:
    โœจ Professional achievements:
Big projects completed, milestones reached, certifications earned, challenges navigated.
    โœจ Personal growth:
Developing new skills, refining leadership, improving communication, or finding better balance.
    โœจ Community + mentorship moments:
Support received from peers, mentors, or leaders who helped make the year a little easier.
    โœจ Lessons learned:
The โ€œhard-earned wisdomโ€ that will shape how we approach 2026.
For many professionals, gratitude isnโ€™t just a mindset โ€” itโ€™s a way to stay grounded during a demanding season and recognize the progress thatโ€™s often easy to overlook.
So as December begins, itโ€™s worth asking:
    1. What are you most proud of this year โ€” professionally, personally, or both?
    2. What moment of growth or resilience stands out the most?
    3. And whatโ€™s one lesson from 2025 that youโ€™re bringing with you into the new year?
Sharing these reflections can help the entire community enter year-end with more clarity, connection, and confidence.

These are great reflections to bring us into 2026, Victoria! I think I am most proud of the work we are doing here at the Association with the Emerging Professionals Initiatives Committee and creating more resources for career development and growth!  One lesson I've definitely learned over the last year is to not be afraid to re-direct or change course when needed to align values and vision with what you are doing personally or professionally.

Looking forward to meeting 2026 with greater impact and intention!
